Where to watch

NASA Wallops Visitor Center

The official viewing location on Route 175, about 7 miles from the pads, with commentary for major launches.

Robert Reed Park, Chincoteague

A free waterfront park in downtown Chincoteague with clear southern sight lines.

Assateague Beach

When open, the beach on Assateague Island offers wide horizon views — larger Wallops launches are visible along much of the Mid-Atlantic coast.

Good to know

Bigger Wallops launches (Antares, Minotaur) are visible from Virginia Beach to New Jersey and beyond on clear nights — NASA publishes visibility maps before each one.

Chincoteague is small: for a morning launch, arrive the night before and expect limited parking near the water.
