How often do rockets launch from Cape Canaveral?

Florida’s Space Coast is the busiest launch region on Earth and typically flies several missions a week across Cape Canaveral Space Force Station and neighbouring Kennedy Space Center. Most are SpaceX Falcon 9 flights from SLC-40, with ULA, Blue Origin and others sharing the range.

Do you need a ticket to watch a Cape Canaveral launch?

No. The pads sit on a military installation you cannot enter, but launches are visible for dozens of miles along the coast from public beaches and parks that are free or charge only a small parking fee. Paid viewing exists at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex and buys proximity and commentary, not the only view.

Can you see a Cape Canaveral rocket launch from Orlando?

Sometimes. Orlando is about 50 miles west, so a daytime launch usually reads as a distant contrail at best. Night launches and Falcon Heavy flights are a different matter — the plume lights up and is regularly reported from across central Florida. If you want to actually see it, the drive to Titusville or Cocoa Beach takes roughly an hour.

What happens if a launch is scrubbed?

Most scrubs move to a backup window within 24 to 48 hours, and weather scrubs often go the very next day. The status on this page comes straight from the range: "Go for Launch" with a to-the-minute time means the T-0 is confirmed, while "TBD" means the date is still provisional. Re-check an hour before the window opens.

What is the difference between Cape Canaveral and Kennedy Space Center?

They are neighbouring sites, about 15 minutes apart. Cape Canaveral Space Force Station is the Space Force range to the south, home to SLC-40 and most of Florida’s launch traffic. Kennedy Space Center is NASA’s site on Merritt Island just north, whose LC-39A handles Falcon Heavy, crewed Dragon flights and other large missions. From a viewing spot on the Space Coast the two look much the same.
